Original Packaging
The same containers and materials used in factory packaging can be
obtained through Agilent Sales Office listed at the end of this manual.
In any correspondence refer to the equipment by model number.
Other Packaging Methods
If it becomes necessary to reship the laser head, good commercial packing
should be used. Contract packaging companies can provide dependable
custom packaging on short notice. The following general instructions
should be followed when repackaging with commercially available
materials:
1 If shipping to an Agilent Support Office or Center, attach a tag
indicating the type of service required, return address, and model
number.
2 Wrap the laser head in heavy paper or plastic.
3 Use a strong shipping container. A double-wall carton made of 350
pound test material is adequate.
4 Use enough shock- absorbing material (three to four inch layer) around
all sided of the laser head to provide a firm cushion and prevent
movement inside the container.
5 Seal the shipping container securely.
6 Mark the shipping container “FRAGILE” to assure careful handling. Also
mark “MAGNETIZED MATERIAL UN 2807” on the container to indicate
that the laser head contains magnetic material.
Anytime a laser head or laser tube is shipped, you MUST mark
“MAGNETIZED MATERIAL UN 2807” on the ou tside of the s hipping
package to indicate that the package contains magnetic material.
