Troubleshooting Your Valve System
Changing Valve
Change the complete valve assembly when the following symptoms still occur
after cleaning the valve (as described in “Cleaning Tubing and Valve” on
page 91) and troubleshooting the tubing (as described in “Leaking Tubing
Connectors at Valve” on page 89 and “Contamination Between Ports” on
page 90):
• valve leaking;
• air bubbles in tubing leading from valve;
• >0.5% cross contamination between samples;
• valve has stuck (see “Valve Unit does not Operate” on page 88).
To remove the Valve
1 Bring the valve to position 1 if it operates.
2 Turn off the valve-pump controller.
3 Remove the two screws holding the valve to the valve drive assembly, at the
front.
4 Remove the valve. You may have to move the valve left, right, up or down to
release it from the shaft.
