Troubleshooting Your Valve System
Replacing Fittings
To remove fittings, either slide the fitting off the tubing or cut the tubing level
with the fitting.
The rest of this section describes how you attach new fittings to the tubing.
You will need:
• Fittings (nuts) for tubing-to-tubing connections,
• Ferrules and o-rings,
• Valve fittings for connecting tubing to the valve,
• Tubing cutter, and
• Nut fitting extender.
The tubing kit which is supplied with your sampling system contains a tubing
cutter, and nut fitting extender.
1 Cut the tubing to the required length use the tubing cutter.
2 Slide a fitting over the end of the tubing.
3 Slide an o-ring over the end of the tubing—the inside of the o-rings are
beveled, make sure the narrow end of the bevel points towards the fitting,
see Figure 37.
Two types of fittings (nuts) are available. Use the fittings with narrow inner diameter for
connecting tubings. Use the fittings with wide inner diameter for dissolution probes.
