4 Basic Configuration
The basic configuration requires system administrator or administrator rights. With user
rights you will only be able to access and configure Users & Groups and the Phonebook.
Refer to 3 Authentication Levels and Default Passwords on page 11.
4.1 Add Users

The users must be added to UPAC to enable messaging in the system.
1 Click “Users & Groups” on the start page.
2 Enter User name and Password and click “OK”.
3 Select Messaging Users > Users in the menu.
The Users page opens.
4 Click the “Add” button.
5 Enter the following settings:

Setting Description
Last Name: The family name
First Name: The first (given) name
Call ID: The Call ID can be numerical or a text string (max 50
characters). Normally the Call ID is set as the same as
the handset phone number.
Number/Address: The phone number or the personal address within
selected category.
Category: This is the messaging system to which the handset
belongs, (defined in the Setup Wizard). Update or
adding messaging systems is defined in Other Settings
> Messaging Categories.
Divert to Number/Address: This is the number/address to divert the message to if
the Call ID is not reachable (delivery failure, absent or
out of range).
