2 Installation and Configuration
After installing the UPAC hardware, the basic configuration is easily done with the help of
a setup wizard. The wizard includes all basic settings needed to get the UPAC up and
running.
2.1 Cables and Adapters
Note: Not included in delivery.
Cables to DECT Exchange and adapters can be ordered separately, refer to the Data Sheet
UPAC – Unite Packet for Messaging and Alarm TD 92482GB.
If you want to make your own cable, refer to the descriptions in Appendix B: RJ45
Connections on page 84.
2.2 Mounting
UPAC should be placed in a dry environment with a temperature range of 0 to +40°C.
Refer to figure 2 for dimensions.
Note:
• Only install one module at a time, otherwise problems might occur during IP addressing.
• To facilitate service after the unit is installed, we recommend a free space of about 150
mm above and 50 mm below the unit.

IMPORTANT: • The module must be mounted in a vertical position to ensure sufficient
cooling for the electrical components.
• Always follow the instructions in 2.10 Power Down and Restart on page
10 when disconnecting the power to the module.
