10.5.3 Heading Offset Adjustment
EFD1000 PFD software version 1.0 - go to Section 10.5.3.1
EFD1000 PFD software version 1.1 or subsequent - go to Section 10.5.3.2
10.5.3.1 Heading Offset Adjustment (PFD software version 1.0 )
Monitor current aircraft heading on the PFD and compare it to actual aircraft heading.
Check the four cardinal headings and determine if the PFD heading is consistently higher
or lower than actual. Use the HDG OFFSET on Installation Menu page 10 of 11 to correct
for any misalignment of the RSM during mounting. Press the MENU Key to exit the
Installation Menu. Continue with heading accuracy tests in Section 10.5.4.
10.5.3.2 Heading Offset Adjustment (PFD software version 1.1 and subsequent)
When the calibration routine is complete and the results have been accepted the CAL HDG
value will be displayed.

Position the aircraft so that it is at a heading of 30º as verified by a sight compass or
other calibrated means. Press the line select key next to “HDG SEL” and then turn the right
knob until HDG SEL: 030º is displayed. Now press the line select key next to “HDG ADJ”
and turn the right knob until the CAL HDG of figure 10.31 displays exactly 030.0º as
shown in figure 10.32 or as close to 030º as possible within a ±4º tolerance. The HDG
ADJ field will display the amount of correction (+/- 6.0 degrees) that was required. Press
the HDG ADJ line select key to accept the setting.
