Quick Guides
Introduction
The Quick Guides in this chap ter pro vide a way to get used to the ATS
user in ter face, and to get some im me di ate re sults from ATS-2. As you be -
come more fa mil iar with the sys tem, please re fer to the ATS-2 User’s Man -
ual for fur ther in for ma tion.
The Quick Guides be gin with the as sump tion that ATS-2 is turned on
and con nected to your PC, and that the ATS soft ware has been launched
and is prop erly con trol ling your in stru ment. No ca bles or ex ter nal de vices
are needed for the Quick Guides.
Quick Guide to the Analog Signal Path
When the ATS soft ware is launched, the de fault workspace is loaded
with three pan els, la beled An a log Gen er a tor, An a log In put, and An a -
lyzer. To re turn to this con fig u ra tion at any time, click the New Test but -
ton. Pre vi ous set tings and data will be discarded.
Analog Input Panel
ATS-2 has two chan nels of an a log in put. Each chan nel can re ceive a
sig nal from its front panel XLR con nec tor, its front panel BNC con nec tor,
or via an in ter nal path from the an a log gen er a tor. The Source fields on
the An a log In put panel pres ent these choices as a drop-down list.
Choose ‘GenMon’ for each chan nel to en gage the internal path.
Analog Generator Panel
In the de fault con fig u ra tion, the An a log Gen er a tor panel is set for a
1 V, 1 kHz sine wave, but the an a log out puts are dis abled. To turn on
