Description of the pneumatics
Compressed air is mainly used for all the filmfeed actions of the SilverWriter. Air
bearings are used for the optics carriage and airbags lift the granite block and drum for
a vibration-free exposure. In most cases, switching of compressed air is done by
means of 5-2 electromagnetic (EM) valves (5 ports, 2 states) which are
commanded via solid state relays. The 5-2 valves used are monostable:
they reset when the power is switched off
Safety precautions:
- All EM valves work on 24 V DC.
❖Warning
Pneumatic devices may only be serviced by Diagnostics and Advanced Service
Personnel.
