How to download Ssipro software
(on a 32 mbyte)
• Copy the new Ssipro software( .mcs) into 'c:\rip\field\ssiproiii' on the
PowerRip.
• Be sure that you have a Ssipro window started and it's connected to 'COM2'.
Note: We had already several times difficulties downloading from COM2. When
‘send sync’ at ‘Turbo serial download’ is not correct working or downloading is
not working, you have to connect Ssipro to ‘COM1’.
• Switch off power and take the 'Ssipro' board out of the machine.
• Move jumper from position 'J6' to position 'J27'. You can find the position of the
jumpers on the Ssiproiii layout.
• Re-install Ssipro, connect all cables and powerup the SilverWriter.
• Go to the Ssipro window on the PowerRip. The last line you should see is:"Ready
to receive MCS data !" Depending on software he can first ask you to confirm
the next question:”PerformBIST: succes ?” Answer with ‘y’
• Disconnect the 'Ssipro terminal' in the 'file menu' when you use a ‘Tera Term
window’. Or select disconnect on the shortcut keys when you have a
'Hyperterminal'.
• Startup the 'flashdownload.exe' file on 'c:\rip\field\ssiproiii' of the PowerRip.
• Set 'Cable port' to 'COM2' (COM1)
• Press a few times 'Send Sync' to check if you have connection with Ssipro. After
pressing 'Send Sync' you should immediately get the FlashDownload menu again
in the normal status.( If the response takes more than half a second, SSIPRO3 is not ready)
• Select the area you want to clear.

You only clear the area you want to re-program !!!!!
Ex.:
From1_1 .mcs
→
used in program area
Cpudma.mcs
→
used in cpudma area
When the area is cleared, always check the CPU LED on the Ssirpoiii board.
(Wait until CPU LED on SSIPROIII goes dark)
• Select "Turbo serial download" (Baudrate will be automaticly changed to 57600)
• Select a few times 'Send Sync' again to see if you still have connection with
'COM2'(COM1).( If the response takes more than half a second, SSIPRO3 is not ready)
• Fill in the software name( .mcs) into the 'Download MCS file' field of the
flashDownload window.
• Select "Download" (Downloading new software is started and will take about 3
minutes)
• If you want to install another software in another area, you first have to :
Select "Quit Flash writer"
Select "Exit"
Reset Ssiproiii
After this you start again from point “Startup the 'flashdownload.exe' file…..”.
Offcourse you don’t have to erase the area again because it was already done.
• When the file is downloaded, follow the next steps.
• Select "Quit Flash writer"
• Select "Exit"
