Ucam - Smartplot install configuration
To configure on PowerRip and Ucam station :
A Fixed IP address
1. IP Address+Computer name – Subnetmask – Defaultgateway – Domain -
Workgroup – login on PowerRip.
(2. IP Address in : Winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)
(3. Sharing the data drive on Ucam-station!)
B DHCP
1. Computer name - Domain – Workgroup – login on PowerRip.
2. Ripshare directory on PowerRip(done during PowerRip v2.x installation)
Configuration of the communication between a PowerRip v2.x
plotter and UCAM on Windows workstations to be able to use
SmartPlot.
Conventions used in this document:
Hostname of the PowerRip: my_PowerRip (example: powerrip)
Hostname of the Windows UCAM workstation: my_UCAM
Update PowerRip
Upgrading the plotter with PowerRip v2.x will make all required modification to
allow an UCAM Windows workstation to share a part of the hard disk of the plotter.
D:\rip\share is automatically made accessible for sharing between Windows
workstations, this directory is shared with share name ripshare.
Update Ucam.db on UCAM Windows workstation
This document contains only the most critical ucam.db keys, to allow SmartPlot to
pass the required files from the UCAM Windows workstation on the PowerRip.
smartupl.hosts
Defines the available rip hosts in a comma-separated list of names.
smartupl.hosts: my_PowerRip
Example: smartupl.hosts: powerrip
smartupl.my_PowerRip.ripdir
Defines the directory where the MLF files and the DPF files for the plotter are stored.
This is the directory specification used by SmartPlot. This directory can be located
on the shared folder on the PowerRip.
smartupl.my_PowerRip.ripdir: \\my_PowerRip\ripshare
