From the figure you can see that after one revolution the carriage has 
moved 12 pixels and the second revolution starts drawing pixel no. 12.  
The distance between the beams would be twice the resolution if you 
exposed with an odd number of beams (perfectly interlaced). To expose 
with an even number of beams, the position of the beams or "shuffle  
pattern" must be carefully chosen.
