Connect diode to ADC connector of Maccon.
Search position of diode and store carriage position in par22:

Set carriage before the knife:

LTL > 0 1 ADCPOT ;not necessary from maccon 2.5

LTL > SHOPEN
LTL > DO 10000 SKIPR GETREF . RDADC . 1E5 WAIT TILKEY
At a certain position the RDADC-value will increase up to a maximum.
This is the start position of the sensitive area. The end position is
found when the RDADC-value decreases again. Store the mid position of
the sensitive area in par 22 (= begin + end / 2).
