5.3 Emergency shutdown at Overtemperature
To prevent damage on the hardware due to high temperatures, the camera features emergency
shutdown. Function DeviceTemperatureStatusTransitionSelector (Category: DeviceControl) is
to select temperature thresholds:
n
NormalToHigh: freely programmable value
n
HighToExeeded: fixed value (camera shutdown if exceeded)
n
ExeededToNormal: freely programmable value, temperature for error-free re-activation of
the camera
Function DeviceTemperatureStatusTransition is for setting the temperatures of programmable
temperature transitions.
Event EventDeviceTemperatureStatusChanged will be generated as soon as DeviceTempera-
tureStatus has changed.
Temperature exceeding the value set at HighToExeeded will set function DeviceTemperature-
Exceeded to True and switch off the sensor to reduce current consumption while the LED status
indicator is on red continuous. This usually will reduce temperature. Still rising camera tempera-
ture induced by ambient temperature may damage the hardware.
For further use, let the camera cool down after disconnection from power supply or perform a
DeviceReset.
Output of event DeviceTemperatureStatusChanged (Device Temperature < ExceededToNor-
mal) indicates that cooling is sufficient.
