11.5.4 Replacing the Crystal-Multiplier Assembly
- Switch the scintillation counter off.
- Do not perform the replacement in bright daylight, as this may
damage the photo cathode of the photomultiplier.
- Open the scintillation counter by removing the cover of the
connection box first and then the screws of the socket. The
entire electronics (1) with the crystal/multiplier combination can
then be detached from the housing.
- Replace the crystal-multiplier assembly and carefully close the
housing again.
- Following replacement, take another plateau. The optimum op-
eration point is automatically set after power on.
Just as after replacement of a complete detector, you should
repeat the tare measurement as soon as possible.
11.6 Replacing the Evaluation Unit
To replace the entire evaluation unit, please proceed as follows:
a) Print parameters of old evaluation unit
b) Enter data using the parameter printouts with date (for
source decay compensation).
c) Start measurement with <run> .
e) Enter current date.
