6.1 General Description
The evaluation electronics is designed as a 19" module in the for-
mat 3 HE, 21 TE. It includes the microprocessor-controlled evalua-
tion electronics and the power supply for the operating and control
voltages. A 32 bit microprocessor with a menu-structured software
specially designed for bulk flow measurements is used for signal
processing.
Six foil keys on the front panel are all you need to operate the in-
strument:
o Three so-called softkeys allow user-guided definition
of all instrument settings and input of the required
parameters.
o Three more function keys: <enter>, <clear> and
<run>.
The illuminated display field on the front panel shows the relevant
instrument function on four lines. The front panel also includes a
RS 232 interface.

The terminal strip on the instrument rear panel includes all termi-
nals for power supply, for the detector, and for the analog and
digital output signals. The current output is isolated and the built-
in relays for Max./Min. signaling and for error messages include an
isolated contact.
The system automatically corrects for the decrease of the source
activity over the entire service life of the source.
System malfunctions are signaled by error messages.
