3.4 Tachometer Installation (Option)
3.4.1 Conveyor Belt Installation
The tachometer measuring the speed of the conveyor belt is
equipped with a flexible holder and a running wheel. Install the ta-
chometer such that the wheel is running on the lower belt. Two
threaded rods size M 12 are fixed to the holder. Both screw threads
are 65 mm apart (see dimensional drawing no. 4507, 105 in the
Appendix).
3.4.2 Chain and Screw Conveyor Installation
The tachometer measuring the speed of chain or screw conveyors
is equipped with a flexible coupling. The coupling is fixed to an
axle having an outer diameter of 12 mm. The coupling is 50 mm
long and the outer diameter 26 mm. For tachometer with fastening
bore hole and coupling see drawing no. 4507. 106-000 in the Ap-
pendix.
3.5 Installation of Evaluation Unit
When installing the evaluation unit, please keep in mind:
a) According to the Ex protection criteria, the evaluation unit must
only be used outside the Ex-area. If the evaluation unit -
detector system is used in accordance with inherently safe crite-
ria, an equipotential bonding has to be established between
detector and evaluation unit.
b) Please note the maximum cable lengths between evaluation unit
and detector. See section Technical Data.
c) The evaluation unit should not be installed outdoors.
Other than that, installation of the evaluation unit is simple, since
the frame is designed in 19“ technique and two bore holes each
are foreseen at both butt straps to which the unit can be fixed at
the protective housing. To do this, open the front door of the pro-
tective housing and you will see 4 lead-screw nuts. The respective
screws for fastening are enclosed. Installation in a control cabinet
is done in the same manner.
