CHECKING THE FLOAT LEVEL
(FLOAT HEIGHT)
Remove the carburettor and the float
chamber. Tilt the carburettor so that the
float touches the float needle valve without
pressing it too hard.
In this position the float edge should be
parallel with the float chamber sealing
surface (see figure).
If the float height does not correspond to
the nominal value, check the float needle
valve and if necessary replace it.
If the needle valve is in working order,
adjust the float height by bending float
lever 3.
Fit the float chamber, install the carburettor
and adjust the idle speed.

COOLANT
The level of the coolant must be checked
when the engine is cold. Use the following
procedure:
Unscrew cap A and visually check the
level of the liquid. When the engine is
cold, the radiator fins should be immersed
in the liquid for about 10 mm.
Top up if the coolant does not cover the
radiator fins (see chart on page 31).
The capacity of the circuit is shown in the
table on page 20.
WARNING
To avoid scalds, never unscrew the radiator
filler cap when the engine is hot.
