3.6 Area classification, information for the zone classification
The operator is to classify the zones. The following areas are identified below:
• Unprotected areas. The spread of an explosive atmosphere to unprotected device parts must be relia-
bly prevented.
• Areas where, depensing on the substances used, explosive atmospheres may occur on a rare and
temporary basis. The creation of a zone outside the defined areas must be reliably prevented.
