Program A—Grasp & Release
Program A activates sequential opening and closing of the hand. Pressing Start starts the
program. Hand opening begins after a half-second pause. Then, the hand closes and opens
cyclically, with a pause between each cycle. The program shuts down automatically after the
total time has elapsed (range: 5–120 minutes). Stimulation intensity, the duration of extension
and flexion, and total time are adjustable. See Figure 8-23.

To configure Program A:
1. Select Program A.
2. Adjust open/release time, grasp time, and total time.
3. Press Start. The program countdown clock will appear at the bottom of the screen.
4. If needed, adjust stimulation intensity.
5. Allow the program to continue for the total time or press Stop.
6. Press Done to return to the Program Settings window.
Note: The active program phase will be highlighted in ORANGE.
Note: Adjustments to stimulation intensity affect all programs except Key Open.
