Flight Path Vector Symbol with Guidance Cue
A flight director guidance cue commanding a particular input from pilot.
Displayed only when flight directors are turned on. Removed from HUD at 50 feet
RA. Fills (solid) during windshear alerting. (Refer to Alerts Displayed on the
HUD in Chapter 15, Section 10, for additional information.)
during normal takeoff, the guidance cue appears at approximately 50 feet
RA
during a HUD Low Visibility Takeoff, the guidance cue appears at the
same time as the flight path vector symbol (air to ground transition)
Displays actual flight path vector of the airplane as derived from IRS.
Appears at air to ground transition.
Speed Error Tape and Flight Path Acceleration
Indicates the inertial acceleration (or deceleration) of the airplane along the flight
path.
Removed from the display when a low-level, decreasing performance windshear
is detected below 400 feet AGL.
When symbol is above the wing of the flight path vector symbol, the airplane is
accelerating. When it is below the flight path vector symbol wing, the airplane is
decelerating.
Displays difference between the indicated airspeed and the selected airspeed (on
the Mode Control Panel) or flight management system commanded airspeed.
