4.2.3 Checking and topping up engine oil
Low oil pressure
If the oil pressure is too low:
1
the "Engine oil level" indicator on the control panel lights up.
a) Switch off the engine.
b) Check the engine oil level as follows and top up engine oil if necessary.
c) If the engine oil level is sufficient, check the oil pressure switch for
defects.
NOTE
If the engine oil level is too low, the engine is switched off.
Checking the engine oil
level
To check the engine oil level:

a) Pull out the engine oil dipstick (1).
b) Read the engine oil level:
The oil level should be in the range shown in (2).
c) Reinsert the engine oil dipstick (1).
Topping up engine oil
NOTE
Use engine oil 10W40 to ensure optimum engine service life.
To top up engine oil:
1
a) Open the engine oil filler neck (1).
b) Add engine oil (for the filling quantity, see chapter

c) Close the engine oil filler neck (1).
