7.5.6.4 Jump starting
Prerequisites
Before jump starting the machine, make sure that
– only standardised jumper cables are used.
– the instructions for the jumper cable have been read.
– Batteries of the same voltage are available.
– the machine's engine is switched off.
Jump starting the machine
To jump start the machine:
a) Switch off the battery disconnector.

b) Remove the front cover on the engine.
c) Remove the protective cap from the starter (1).
d) Connect the positive terminal of the jumper battery to the positive
terminal of the starter.
e) Connect the negative terminal of the jumper battery to the bare metal
of the engine.
f) Start the jumper vehicle.
g) Switch on the battery disconnector.
h) Start the machine. Engage the starter for a maximum of 15 seconds.
i) Disconnect both negative terminals.
j) Disconnect both positive terminals.
k) Slide the protective cap back on the starter (1).
7.5.7 Changing the engine oil and the engine oil filter
Draining the engine oil
To drain the engine oil:
a) Clean the area around the engine oil filler neck, dipstick and drain plug.

b) Place a suitable collection container (1) under the drain plug.

c) Remove the engine oil filler neck (2).

d) Open the drain plug (3).
