7.5.6 Maintaining the battery
7.5.6.1 General
WARNING
Danger of explosion due to explosive gas mixture!
There is a risk of explosion when working on the battery, which can
cause extremely serious injuries.
4 Avoid fire, sparks, open lights and smoking when working on the
battery.
4 Avoid sparks when working with cables and electrical equipment.
4 Avoid short circuits.
WARNING
Risk of burns from battery acid!
There is a risk of burns from the battery acid if handled improperly.
4 Wear protective gloves and safety goggles.
4 Do not tilt the battery.
4 In case of contact with eyes: flush eyes immediately with water and
consult a doctor.
4 On contact with skin or clothing: neutralise with acid neutraliser or
soapy water and rinse with water.
4 If swallowed: consult a doctor immediately.
