Preparing for Acquisition, Frequency Related Parameters
50 / 86 H171804E_14_001
It should be noted that the value of SWH used in any given experiment is determined only by
the sample under analysis and the required spectral resolution. The value of 14 ppm for
hydrogen spectra will ensure that most proton signals are detected. However, for a detailed
study of a particular signal, much smaller values of SWH are used.
The figure below illustrates the general principles of how SFO1, BF1 and O1 interact (here
shown with a new sample).
Figure6.4: Interaction of SFO1, BF1 and O1
1. Setting O1 to a positive value shifts the window to higher frequencies.
2. SW determines the width of the window.
3. Frequency.
4. Setting O1 to a negative value shifts the window to lower frequencies.
5. SFO1 is the center of the spectrum.
