SMART MATRIX - 3-16 -
Machine Configuration (Levels, Creels, Rows, Columns, Bar)
Due to the high number of sensors normally used for SMART MATRIX WARP applications it has been
necessary to introduce an identification method allowing the operator to easily locate the sensors in a Logical
way, depending on machine configuration.
The sensors are located inside “Logical Arrays” definable by the user according to the machine
configuration. This allows the user to immediately locate the machine “Zone” where each individual sensor
operates (for instance to quickly locate a faulty sensor).
During the system configuration stage, the user shall define the arrays for the logical sensor identification,
i.e.:
- Levels number (number of creel overlying levels)
- Allowable values : OFF = 1 level
2 = 2 levels
3 = 3 levels
4 = 4 levels
- Number of creel per level
- Allowable values: 1 ÷ 26 if levels number = OFF
1 ÷ 16 if levels number = 2, 3 o 4
- Sensor identification priority within the creels (matrix):
• Rows Priority
• Columns Priority
• Bars Priority
• Ends Priority (*)
To each of these priorities, a different sensor numbering mode is applied.
The following page shows 3 examples with 1 – 2 and 4 creels respectively, configured on one level,
according to which the Logical Sensor Identification shall be carried out.
The page 3-18 shows a configuration example with 3 levels and 4 creels for each level.
* The ENDS option refers to a special configuration that cannot be used in a general way
