NOTICE
Clear any ice or snow from the
wiper blades before using them
to prevent damage to the
blades and overloading the
wiper motor.
The wipers are protected by a
circuit breaker. If there is an electri-
cal overload, the wiper system will
stop until the motor cools.
Wiper blades will eventually wear
out and not wipe properly,
reducing forward vision. Replace
worn wiper blades.
Rain Sensitive Wipers (If
equipped)
A sensor is mounted on the inside
of the windshield behind the rear-
view mirror.
The sensor monitors the amount
of moisture on the windshield and
automatically operates the wipers
accordingly.
NOTICE
Do not place stickers or other
items on the exterior glass
surface in front of the moisture
sensor. Doing so could cause
the sensor to malfunction.
The control should be left in the off
position unless the wipers are
needed.
The rain sensitive wiper system can
be activated by moving the stalk
up to the first position and then
turning the wiper band to one of
the five sensitivity levels indicated
on the stalk. Turn the band
towards you for minimum sensitiv-
ity and away from you for maxi-
mum sensitivity.
A single wipe will occur each time
the band is rotated upward to a
higher sensitivity position to indi-
cate the sensitivity level has been
increased.
The wipers will operate in a delay
mode as well as a continuous low
or high speed, depending on the
sensitivity level and amount of
moisture.
The rain sensitive wiper system
may be activated by vibration. For
example, the system may activate
if something hits the windshield or
if the vehicle hits a bump.
