HIGH SPEED OPERATION
CAUTION
Driving at high speeds,
160 km/h (100 mph) or higher,
puts an additional strain on
tires. Sustained high-speed
driving causes excessive heat
buildup and can cause sudden
tire failure. You could crash and
you or others could be killed.
Some high-speed rated tires
require inflation pressure
adjustment for high-speed
operation. When speed limits
and road conditions permit a
vehicle to be driven at high
speeds, make sure the tires are
rated for high-speed operation,
are in excellent condition, and
are set to the correct cold tire
inflation pressure for the vehicle
load.
You must adjust the tire pressure
for high-speed driving if the
vehicle is equipped with the
following high-performance tire
sizes:
• 235/50ZR18
• 255/40R19
• 285/35R19
If you will be driving at speeds of
160 km/h (100 mph) or faster,
where it is legal, set the cold infla-
tion pressure to the maximum
inflation pressure shown on the
tire sidewall or to 300 kPa (44psi),
whichever is lower. When you end
this high-speed driving, return to
the cold inflation pressure shown
on the tire information label.

Tire Pressure Monitor (If
equipped)
NOTICE
Modifications made to the tire
pressure monitor system by
anyone other than an autho-
rized service facility may void
authorization to use the system.
This system uses radio and sensor
technology to monitor tire
pressure.
