When the security lock is engaged,
you can lock and unlock the rear
doors using the transmitter, the
front power door lock switch or by
lifting the rear door lock manually.
But the door can only be opened
from the outside.
Security Lock Activation
To activate this feature, use any
key to turn the rear door security
lock to the horizontal position, and
then close the door. To open the
door, unlock it and open it from
the outside.
To deactivate this feature, use any
key to turn the rear door security
lock to the vertical position.
â– TRUNK AREA
CAUTION
It can be very dangerous to
drive with the trunk open.
Carbon monoxide (CO) gas can
come into your vehicle. You
cannot see or smell CO. It can
cause unconsciousness and
even death.
If you must drive with it open or
with the seal between the body
and the trunk lid broken, make
sure all windows are closed and
turn the fan on to the highest
speed using any setting that
brings in outside air. Doing this
will force outside air into the
vehicle.
Make sure that the air outlets
on or under the instrument
panel are fully open.
Trunk-Lid Lock Release
Use the remote trunk-lid lock
release to open the trunk from
inside your vehicle.
The button is located on the
driver’s door, or on the
transmitter.
If your vehicle is equipped with an
ignition control knob, you can also
press the trunk release button
located on the rear of the trunk lid,
above the license plate as long as
the keyless access transmitter is
within range.
