NOTICE
Do not drive with the parking
brake set.
Driving with the parking brake
on could cause the brakes to
overheat. The brakes, or other
parts of the vehicle, could be
damaged.
You should not park vehicles with
trailers on a grade (hill). However,
if you must park on a grade, see
"Parking On Hills" under "Trailer
Towing" later in this section.
Electric Parking Brake (If
equipped)
CAUTION
On vehicles with a manual
transmission, releasing the
clutch and pressing the acceler-
ator will release the
electric parking brake.
If the manual transmission is
not in a gear, the vehicle could
move suddenly. You or others
may be injured.
Make sure the manual
transmission is in a gear before
attempting to drive away.
To avoid unexpected vehicle
movement, do not partially
release the clutch or press the
accelerator pedal until you are
ready to release the parking
brake and drive away.
If your vehicle is a CTS-V model,
your vehicle is equipped with an
electric parking brake.
The electric parking brake switch is
located in the center console.
The electric parking brake takes
the place of the manual parking
brake system, the foot pedal and
release handle.
