Connectingboosterbatteries
Makesurethattheboosterbatteryvoltagecorre-
spondstothevoltagesystemofthemachine(24
V).
1.Placethekeyofthebatterymasterswitchin
“O”(off)position.
2.Removetheterminalsleeves.
3.Connectthepositive(+)cabletothepositive
(+)terminalontherstmachinebattery.
4.Connectthenegative(-)cabletothenegative
(-)terminalonthesecondmachinebattery.
5.Starttheengine.
6.Placethekeyofthebatterymasterswitchin“I”
(on)position.
7.Removetheboosterbatterynegative(-)cable
andthenthepositive(+)cable.
8.Installtheterminalsleeves.
Belttension
Tocheckthebelttensionproceedasfollows:
1.Stoptheengine.
2.Removethekeyfromthestarterswitch.
3.Pressthecenterofthebeltwithangerwitha
pressureofabout10kg(22.0lb).
Deectionrange(newpart)
7.7-8.7mm(0.303-0.343in)
Deectionrange(reusedpart)
8.3-9.3mm(0.327-0.366in)
NOTICE:iftheenginerunswiththebeltslack,thebeltcan
slipinitshousingandcausetheenginetooverheatorthe
batterytoreceiveinsufcientcharge.
NOTE:checkthatthereisnodamageduetowearonthe
pulleyorthebelt.Checkthatthebeltispositionedcorrectly
inthepulleygroove.Replacethebeltifitisstretched,
cracked,orfrayed.
