Chapter 2 Operating Principles
2-1. Operation of Each Mechanism
CL-S400DT 2-8
2-1-4. Print Head Up/Down Detection Mechanism
The component of the print head up/down detection mechanism is as follows:
(a) SA2 Head Up SW
(b) Protrusion in the head block that pushes the “SA2 Head Up SW”
The print head up/down detection mechanism detects the up (open)/down (close) status of the
head block.
When the head block is in the up position, the protrusion “A” of the head block comes off the “SA2
Head Up SW” (mechanical switch) and the “SA2 Head Up SW” turns OFF. When the head block is
in the down position, the protrusion “A” of the head block pushes the “SA2 Head Up SW” and the
“SA2 Head Up SW” turns ON.
The CPU on the “SA Main PCB” detects up or down position of the head block by sensing the
output of the “SA2 Head Up SW”.
