3. Connect the device to FE using screws.
o Hold the unit in the desired position and mark the two points where the threads are to be cut.
Verify there is enough space around the device so that you can connect all cables without
any problems
o Cut an M4 thread at each of the two marked points with the M4 thread cutter
o If necessary, pre-drill with the drill first
o Screw the unit into the threaded holes with the Allen key using two M4 cylinder head screws
of suitable length at the upper and lower ends. Observe the tightening torque
4. Mount the device’s SMA antennas.
o All SMA antennas (X1, X2, and X3) must be mounted for proper device operation
Once mounting is complete, users should move onto the grounding process.
4.1.2. Grounding (optional)
After mounting, follow the steps below to ground the device.
The L-coded M12 connectors which are needed for the device's power supply all have a pin FE
(Functional Earth) connected to the metal housing of the device. The same metal housing has
a central grounding point for the FE.
Instructions:
1. Ground the device via the metal housing and/or,
2. Ground via FE of the power supply connection and/or,
3. Grounding can be done separately via a cable lug and the mounting hole if the device is mounted
on a non-conductive base.
Ensure that the contacts are perfect and that the cable cross-section is sufficient.
4.1.3. Demounting
After grounding, follow the steps below to demount the device.
General Requirements:
• Allen key to loosen the M4 hexagon socket head screws according to DIN 912 or ISO 4762
Prerequisites:
• Disconnect the part of the plant to which you have mounted the device from the power supply
• If the device is dirty, clean it first. It is particularly important to clean dirty screw connections
• Before demounting, loosen all screw connections at the terminals and disconnect the cables
Instructions:
1. Verify that the plant on which the device is mounted is de-energized.
2. Use the Allen key to loosen the two M4 cylinder head screws.
3. Remove the device for replacement or reuse.
