This mode adds an ex tra layer of security by ch ecking the IP MAC-Binding Port Binding (IMPB) table b efore trying one of the
supported au thentication methods. Th e IM PB Ta ble is used t o create a ‘white list’ that checks if t he IP streams being sent by
authorized hosts ha ve been granted o r not. I n t he a bove di agram t he Swi tch port has been c onfigured t o al low cl ients t o
authenticate using 802.1X. If the client is in the IMPB table and tries to co nnect to the network using this authentication method
and the client is listed in the white list for legal IP/MAC/port checking, acce ss will be granted. If a client fails one of the
authentication methods, access will be denied.
