Pin A5 Speed Limit 1 / Inch Forward / Adv Mode1
The function of this input is defined by the programmable parameter “M2-3 Digital input 5 and 6 configuration
”Sp/In/Ad”:
• If set to 0 (Speed limit), then this input is used to limit the speed of the vehicle to a value set by the
programmable parameter “M5.1-4 Cutback speed 1 “Speed1””. The speed limit will occur if the switch
is open.
• If set to 1 (Inching), then this input is used for “inching” the vehicle in the forward direction. Inching will
occur when the switch is closed. The exact functionality of inching is set by the programmable
parameters M1.11-1 Inching speed “InchSpd”, M1.11-2 Inching time “InchTime”.
• if set to 2 (Advanced mode), if the switch input is open the drive style 1 will be adopted and the set of
parameter of drive style one will be adopted (refer to controller setup “M2-3Digital input 5 and 6
configuration ”Sp/In/Ad”” description).
• If set to 3 (Speed Limit and Foot Brake Switch), then this input is used to limit the speed of the vehicle
to a value set by the programmable parameter “M5.1-4 Cutback speed 1 “Speed1””. The speed limit
will occur if the switch is open.
Pin A6 Speed Limit 2 / Inch Reverse / Adv mode 2 / Foot Brake Switch
The function of this input is defined by the programmable parameter “M2-3 Digital input 5 and 6 configuration
”Sp/In/Ad””:
• If set to 0 (Speed limit), then this input can be used to limit the speed of the vehicle to a value set by
the programmable parameter “M5.1-5 Cutback speed 2 “Speed2””. The speed limit is active when the
switch is open.
• If set to 1 (Inching), then this input is used for “inching” the vehicle in the reverse direction. Inching will
occur when the switch is closed. The functionality of inching is defined by the programmable parameters
”M1.11-1 Inching speed “InchSpd”” and “M1.11-2 Inching time “InchTime””.
• If set to 2 (Advanced mode), if the switch input is open (and switch connected to input pin 5 closed) the
set of parameters of drive style 2 will be adopted (refer to controller setup “M2-3 Digital input 5 and 6
configuration ”Sp/In/Ad” description).
• If set to 3 (Speed Limit and Foot Brake Switch) and if the switch connected to input pin 6 closed, a
footbrake operation is demanded with 100% of the Foot Brake torque and foot brake ramp time (refer
to controller setup “M2-3 Digital input 5 and 6 configuration ”Sp/In/Ad” and adjustment “M1.1-9 Foot
brake torque “FBrake””, ”M1.1-10 Foot brake ramp time “FBrkRamp”” description).
Pin A7 Speed Limit 3 / Handbrake
This input is primarily intended to be used with a handbrake switch; however its function can be set by the
programmable parameter “M2-4 Digital input 7 configuration ”Spd3/Hbk””:
• If set to Speed 3 (0), then this input can be used to limit the speed of the vehicle to a value set by the
programmable parameter. The speed limit will occur when the switch is open. The speed will be limited
to the setting “M5.1-6 Cutback speed 3 “Speed3”” .
• If set to Handbrake (1), then this input should be connected to the vehicle’s handbrake switch. When
the switch is closed, i.e. the handbrake is on, the vehicle’s speed limit will be set by the parameter
“M5.1-8 Handbrake speed limit “HandBrk” “ and torque limited to “M5.1-9 Handbrake torque limit
“MxDrTrq3””.
• If set to Timed Speed 3 Limit (2), then this input can be used to limit the speed for a certain time The
speed limit will occur when the switch is open. The speed will be limited to the setting “M1-44 Cutback
speed 3 (I/O 7 set to speed3) “Speed3”” and possible to drive for a time set by “M5.1-7 Speed limit 3
drive time “Spd3Time””. After the time is elapsed to drive again a neutral drive cycle of direction
switches and foot pedal is necessary. This option is not appliable if M2-3 Digital input 5 and 6
configuration ”Sp/In/Ad” is set to advance mode.
Pin A8 Analogue supply 5V – 10 mA max.
A supply for 1-10kΩ Potentiometers is available to this pin with max 10mA capability for sourcing current. DMC
recommends using a 5kΩ Potentiometer for best wire-off detection.
