3.9.1 Upgrading the Dolby CP950or CP950A system soware
You can upgrade your Dolby CP950/CP950A system soware in the maintenance screen.
Procedure
1. Obtain the .dlb upgrade file from Dolby Laboratories at https://customer.dolby.com.
2. Copy the upgrade file to your local disk.
3. Click the upgrade tab in the maintenance > system management pane.
4. Click choose file, select the upgrade file on your local disk, and then click upload.
5. Confirm the displayed upgrade file version, then click install upgrade.
The system initiates the upgrade process, displays the progress, and reboots the Dolby CP950 when the
upgrade is completed.
Note: If you are upgrading from system version 1.0.0, 1.0.2, or 1.0.3, you must upgrade to system
1.0.4.2 first before performing upgrades at a higher version.
Note: In some situations, the memory on the CP950/CP950A may be full and the system will not
have enough space to load and run the upgrade. If this occurs, you may see a Bad Format error
displayed. In such a case, hard power cycle the CP950/CP950A to allow the upgrade to proceed.
3.9.2 Installing an enablement (CP950A only)
To allow a CP950A to play back Dolby Atmos content, you must install an enablement (license) in the
maintenance screen. Without a valid enablement installed, Dolby Atmos playback from a Digital Cinema
package (DCP) is not possible.
Procedure
1. Click the enablements tab in the maintenance > system management pane.
2. Click Choose File, browse to the file that you want to upload, click upload, confirm the upload file, and
then click apply enablement. The system installs the enablement, and the installed enablement appears
at the bottom of the enablements pane. You can also verify a successful upgrade by clicking info at the
top-le side of the web client.
3.9.3 Setting the secure time
The CAT1710 is a secure media block with a real-time clock (RTC). Clocks can dri over time. If needed, you
can adjust the CP950A secure time forward or back by up to six minutes in the maintenance screen.
Procedure
1. Click the secure time tab in the maintenance > system management pane.
2. Click in the enable secure time update box to check that box, enter the desired time (the valid range is
displayed), and then click apply.
3.9.4 Backing up system settings
You can back up your system settings in the maintenance screen. During a backup, all system settings are
saved to a file.
About this task
The backup tool enables you to back up all of the Dolby CP950/CP950A system settings, which includes:
• Auditorium configuration: Size and shape of room, channel routing, and EQ presets
• Current macros and delays
• Preferences and network settings
• Current system state (active macro, fader level, alerts, and so on) at the time of the backup (collectively
called operational state snapshot)
