Average speed (SPEED AVG 1)
To select this function in the Function Menu, scroll the
functions available using buttons (1) and (2) to display
“SPEED AVG. 1”.
The instrument panel calculates and shows vehicle
average speed
Vehicle average speed is displayed with the “SPEED
AVG. 1” indication and unit of measurement (km/h or
mph).
The average speed value displayed is calculated by
adding 5% so as to be consistent with motorcycle
speed indication.
The calculation considers the distance and time since
TRIP 1 was last reset. When TRIP 1 is reset, the value
is reset and the first value available is displayed 10
seconds after the reset. During the first 10 seconds,
when the value is not yet available, the display will
show a string of three dashes “ - - - “ steadily as
average speed.
The active calculation phase occurs when the engine
is running, even when the vehicle is stopped.
Moments when the vehicle is not moving and the
engine is off are not considered.
If button (4) is pressed when average speed is
displayed, the instrument panel will activate the
warning "SPEED AVG 1 RESET ?" in place of the value
and unit of measurement. When this warning is
active, Function Menu scrolling is not possible.
If you press button (1) or (2), the instrument panel will
display SPEED AVG. 1 again, without resetting the
value.
If button (4) is pressed, the value of SPEED AVG. 1 is
reset and the instrument panel will display SPEED
AVG. 1 with “0” and the set unit of measurement.
When average speed is reset, during the first 10
seconds when the value is not available on the
display, three steady dashes “ - - - ” are shown.
