Step 3: Verify VNX
health check
The VNX array must pass its overall health check before you perform an NDU.
Check for trespassed LUNs. Perform the following procedure on the Control Station
and check to see that for all LUNs, the current owner of the LUN is the default owner.
If there are any trespassed LUNs, restore their default LUN ownership with
Unisphere before performing the NDU. Note that hotspare LUNs will have no
current owner.
Note: During the gateway installation when a storage array is added, Secure NaviCLI requires
a username and password for credentials.
1. Open a hyperterminal session to the primary Control Station.
2. Determine which version of the operating environment is currently installed:
$
/nasmcd/sbin/navicli getagent
Note: When troubleshooting and /nas/sbin/navicli is not available, you can also find
navicli in /nasmcd/sbin and /tftpboot/bin directories.
3. Check the LUNs.
Example
$ /nasmcd/sbin/navicli -h <SP A address> getlun -trespass
LOGICAL UNIT NUMBER 5
Default Owner: SP A
Current owner: SP B
4. Check the VNX for faulted CRUs. Ensure the VNX CRUs are present and not
faulted.
Example: $
