3.2.2 Mounting location
The accumulation of air and the formation of gas bubbles in the measuring tube could result in an
increase in measuring errors.
For this reason, avoid the following mounting locations in the pipe:
• The highest point of a pipeline. Risk of air accumulating!
• Directly upstream of a free pipe outlet in a down pipe.

The proposed configuration in the following diagram, however, permits installation in an open
down pipe. Pipe restrictors or the use of an orifice plate with a smaller cross-section than the
nominal diameter prevent the sensor from running empty during measurement.
