Troubleshooting Cubemass DCI MODBUS RS485
68 Endress+Hauser
9.2 System error messages
Serious system errors are always recognized by the device as "Fault message", and are shown as a
lightning flash ($) on the display! Fault messages immediately affect the outputs. Simulations and
positive zero return, on the other hand, are classed and displayed as "Notice messages".
"
Caution!
In the event of a serious fault, a flowmeter might have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair.
Follow the important procedures before returning the flowmeter to Endress+Hauser
→ ä 6.
Always enclose a duly completed "Declaration of Contamination" form. You will find a preprinted
blank of this form at the back of this manual.
!
Note!
• The listed error message types below correspond to the factory setting.
• See also the information on → ä 31.

Response to a fault message:
The value "NaN" (not a number)
is transmitted to the MODBUS
master instead of the current
measured value.
Depicted on the local display:
S = System error
$ = Fault message (with an effect on the outputs)
! = Notice message (without any effect on the outputs)
1SYSTEM OK–
There is no error present in the device
No. # 0xx → Hardware error
2 CRITICAL FAIL. 001 S: CRITICAL FAILURE
$: # 001
Serious device error. Replace the amplifier board.
3AMP HW
EEPROM
011 S: AMP HW EEPROM
$: # 011
Amplifier:
Defective EEPROM.
Replace the amplifier board.
4 AMP SW EEPROM 012 S: AMP SW EEPROM
$: # 012
Amplifier:
Error accessing EEPROM data.
The EEPROM data blocks in which an error has
occurred are displayed in the
"TROUBLESHOOTING" function.
Press ENTER to acknowledge the errors in question;
default values are automatically inserted instead of
the erroneous parameter values.
!
Note!
The measuring device has to be restarted if an error
has occurred in a totalizer block (È also error No.
111 / CHECKSUM TOTAL.).
11 SENSOR
HW DAT
031 S: SENSOR HW DAT
$: # 031
Sensor DAT:
1. S-DAT is defective.
2. S-DAT is not plugged into the
amplifier board or is missing.
1. Replace the S-DAT.
Check the spare part set number to ensure that
the new, replacement DAT is compatible with
the measuring electronics.
2. Plug the S-DAT into the amplifier board.
