FIP-P5  HORIZONTAL WHITE BANDS APPEAR ON PRINTED PAGES
Before starting troubleshooting, inspect the paper feed path of the printer paper. Check 
the paper feed path for metal staples, paper clips, paper scraps, and other foreign 
matter.

Horizontal white bands or faint colored bands appear on 
the printed image.

Is the specified IMAGING CARTRIDGE (Y/
M/C/K) installed correctly?
Go to Step [2]. Replace the 
specified 
IMAGING 
CARTRIDGE (Y/

Check the bands
Do they appear at regular intervals? 
(Refer to the table in “3.5.2 Cycle of the Rollers 
(p136) ”.)
Replace the 
possible parts one 
by one.
Go to Step [3].

Check the belt surface of the TRANSFER 
UNIT
Is the belt surface recessed or deformed?
Replace the 
TRANSFER 
UNIT. (p.268)
Go to Step [4].

Check the laser beam path
Is there any foreign material between the ROS 
ASSY and the IMAGING CARTRIDGE?
Remove the 
foreign material.
Go to Step [5].

Check the connection of the ROS ASSY
Is the harness of the ROS ASSY securely 
connected?
Go to Step [6]. Reconnect the 
harness correctly.

Check after replacing the ROS ASSY
Replace the ROS ASSY (p.280) and make a test 
print. Does the printing quality get back to 
normal?
End of procedure Replace the 
PWBA MCU.
