4. When the engine starts to print, detach the screwdriver from the circuit pattern.
A test pattern will be printed in single-sided print mode. (When a duplex unit is
installed, a test pattern will be printed in duplex print mode.)
5. To check the operation of continuous printing, keep the circuit pattern shorted for
a while.
6. Secure the COVER OPTION with the two screw knurlings. (See Figure 3-6
(p.154).)

Test print can also be performed by removing the BOARD ASSY,
MAIN and shorting out the unmounted circuit pattern TPRINT
(lower left of P10) on the PWBA MCU. See
Figure 3-8 (p.155).
 Test print will not be performed unless papers are loaded in the
standard lower paper cassette or in the MP tray.
 Test print will not be performed if the engine is in an error
state.
