SIS Programming
and Control
This section describes SIS programming and control of the DMP128, including:
• Connection Options
• Host-to-device Communications
• Command and Response Tables
Connection Options
The DMP128 Digital Matrix Processor can be remotely connected via a host computer
or other device (such as a control system) attached to the rear panel RS-232 port or LAN
port, or the front panel USB Config port.
The DMP128 can be set up and controlled using SIS commands, embedded Web
pages, or DSPConfigurator software. See Installation on page5 for pin assignments
and details on the configuration and control port connections. For information on
DSPConfigurator, see DMP Software on page12 and for the embedded Web pages,
see HTML Operation on page155.
SIS commands can be executed using the Extron Electronics DataViewer program, found
on the Software Products DVD included with the product.
DMP128 RS-232 protocol:
• 38400 baud • no parity • 1 stop bit
• 8 data bits • no flow control
NOTE: The rear panel configuration port requires 38400 baud communication. This
is a higher speed than many other Extron products use. The DMP128 control
software automatically sets the connection for the appropriate speed. When using
DataViewer or similar application, make sure the PC or control system connected
to the port is set for 38400 baud.
See RS-232 Port on page130, for additional details on connecting the RS-232 port.
USB port details:
The Extron USB driver must be installed before use (see Installing the USB Driver on
page15).
LAN port defaults:
DMP128 IP address: 192.168.254.254
Gateway IP address: 0.0.0.0
Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0
DHCP: off
