Note on network settings recovery
When replacing network controllers or the system board, network
configuration settings in the operating system will be lost and replaced
by default values. This applies to all static IP address and LAN teaming
configurations.
Ensure to note down your current network settings before replacing the
system board.
Preliminary steps
Backup the BIOS settings manually.

"Unlocking the server" on page 39.
"Removing the bay cover" on page 40.
"Shutting down the server" on page 41.
"Disconnecting the power cord" on page 42.
Disconnect all external cables.
"Getting access to the component" on page 43.
Remove all memory modules, see "Removing a memory module" on
page 130.
Before removing the memory modules, take a note on the installation
slot number for each memory module. Ensure that you reinstall the
memory modules in the slot they were located before the
replacement.
Remove the heat sink, see "Removing the heat sink" on page
149
.
Leave the CPU on the defective board for now.
