versions FC4 Ex and FC4 Ex HS
Safety information
We have compiled safety information for you to enable safe handling with
explosion-proof units in a hazardous environment. Absolutely read and
follow this information before entering a hazardous area with an explosion-
proof FC4 Ex (HS).
Putting into operation
The battery is screwed to the housing with a locking screw. The FC4 Ex
(HS) has its own and specially equipped charger with its own plug-in
power supply unit. Other chargers and plug-in power supply units – e.g.
those intended for the FC4 – must not be used for charging the
FC4 Ex (HS).
Making phone calls / messaging
Operation of the telephone and messaging functions are the same for the
unit versions FC4 and FC4 Ex (HS).
Technical data
The explosions-proof versions FC4 Ex / FC4 Ex HS have a larger housing,
a slightly higher weight and slightly shorter talking and stand-by times than
the FC4 handset.

As compared with the FC4 handset, the explosion-proof FC4 Ex /
FC4 Ex HS versions have ...
a Desktop Charger DC4 Professional with part no. 50 1080 9200 and the
matching plug-in power supply unit with part no. 59 0060 2814. A UK
plug-in power supply unit is available for Great Britain. Please contact
your dealer.
an explosion-proof battery with part no. 50 1082 8000
The FC4 Ex may be operated only without headphones/headset. The
socket is permanently plugged with a plug which must not be removed.
