FC4 Ex (HS) – Supplementary safety information
Further supplementary information on the use of explosion-proof handsets
in potentially explosive atmospheres in line with the intended use is
provided below.
EC prototype test certificate for the explosion-proof unit versions
The explosion-proof unit versions meet the regulation 94/9/EC. See also
the ”Technical data” section.
For explosion protection according to ATEX, the EC prototype test
certificate
Zelm ..... with the identifier
• II 2 G Ex e ib IIC T4 (???nmn, neue Kennzeichnung eintragen)
applies for an ambient temperature range Ta= – 10 °C ... + 55 °C.
A list of standards which are met by the explosion-proof units as well as
the dates of issue of these standards can be found in the companion sheet
with part no. 50 1000 930

Use of units in potentially explosive atmospheres
In potentially explosive atmospheres only such units may be used which
comply with the basic safety and health requirements of directive 94/9/EC.
Explosion-proof units meeting this requirement carry the CE mark of
conformity, followed by the identification number of the Notified Body
supervising the quality assurance system and the explosion protection
symbol
.
Hazard degree of hazardous areas
There are hazardous areas (zones) with different hazard degrees. The
units may only be used in those zones which have no higher hazard
degree than that indicated by the manufacturer’s specification of unit
group and category on the unit. The company operating the units and the
system is responsible for defining these zones.
