2) AC power supply cable
The gauge of the AC cable is also determined by the carrying current and line length.
The tolerance of the AC/DC supply and battery charger is within ±10 % of their
nominal values. The cable loss must be limited to 3 to 5 % when the connection losses
and wiring losses in the unit are taken into account. The method of calculating the cable
loss is shown in the following. Refer to table 4.3.6.
* Voltage drop in cable (V): e = (K x I x r x L) / 1000
* Line length of cable (m): L = (1000 x 3) / (K x I x r)
where,
K = coefficient (single-phase/DC: two- and three-phase: √3)
I = current (A)
r = resistance (ohm/km)
L = cable length (m)
