2) DSC-60 test call
To make a test call with a coast station;
1. Create a message on DSC-60.
Call type: Test call
Station ID: 004162019 (for example, MMSI of Taiwan Keelung)
Priority: Safety
DSC frequency: any of 4, 6, 8, 12, and 16 MHz distress alert call
frequencies
2. Press [CALL] button on DSC-60. The system calls a station while “CALL in
Progress” displays.
3. “Waiting for test acknowledgement” appears.
4. Within 5 minutes, the system receives the acknowledgement and displays
“Test acknowledgement call received.”
5. Confirm that ECC is OK in the message received.
If you cannot receive the acknowledgement within 5 minutes, change the
frequency or the station.
3) DP-6 communication with a coast station
To make a DP-6 test call with a coast station, complete the following steps.
1. Set the operating frequencies of the radio station; Set Frequency/[F3] [0].
For example, to call Hong Kong radio, set
TX: 8381.5 kHz and RX: 8421.5 kHz.
2. Check that the above frequencies are set on the radiotelephone.
3. In Manual Calling menu ([F3] [9]), set Mode to ARQ, and enter the ID(sell-call
number) of the coast station as ID number.
For example, ID of Hong Kong radio is
1480.
4. Press [Enter] key. “Busy check ----“ appears.
5. Listen. If the channel is not used, press [Enter] key.
6. DP-6 starts calling and Send is highlighted in Comm. Status.
7. When the line is connected to the coast station, Connect is highlighted in Comm.
Status.
8. Start communication with the coast station.
After receiving GA+?,
type TEST+ to receive test message.
9.
Press [Break] key to break the line.
