Maintenance
Introduction
Regular maintenance, irrespective of usage, is essential to ensure that
the equipment functions when required. This chapter provides basic
maintenance information for the following components:
MAC 1600 device
Cables and leadwires
Paper
Battery
Supplies and accessories
See the documentation provided with your peripherals for additional
maintenance procedures.
WARNING
MAINTENANCE — Failure on the part of all responsible
individuals, hospitals, or institutions employing this
device to implement the recommended maintenance
schedule may result in equipment failure and possible
health hazards. The manufacturer does not in any
manner assume the responsibility for performing the
recommended maintenance schedule unless an
Equipment Maintenance Agreement exists. The sole
responsibility rests with the individuals, hospitals, or
institutions employing the device.
MAC 1600 Maintenance
The MAC 1600 ECG Analysis System is designed to require little more
than regular inspection and cleaning to function properly. Any additional
maintenance should be performed by qualified GE service personnel.
CAUTION
ELECTRICAL HAZARD — Improper handling during
inspection or cleaning could result in electrical shock. To
avoid potential shock, observe the following guidelines at
all times:
Before inspecting or cleaning the system, turn it off,
unplug it from AC power, and remove the battery.
Do NOT immerse any part of the equipment in water.
