Why does my Grizzly Lathe workpiece slip in chuck?

If the workpiece slips in the chuck of your Grizzly Lathe, it may be because the chuck jaws don't match the workpiece diameter (reposition or mold the workpiece to match the jaw dimensions), the cutting force is too high (reduce it), the speed is too high (reduce spindle speed), or the jaws are worn (replace jaws or chuck).
