3. When finished, press ENTER to place the setting in memory.
4. Press the UP button. The Span screen with the Span digital count is
displayed.
Channel 1 and 2 Span
The value of 3890 is the current span digital count for the selected output
channel (CH1 or CH2). Verify that 20 mA are displayed on your multimeter.
1. To adjust the displayed value and the current (mA), press ENTER.
2. To accept the reading, press ENTER.
3. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to ramp the value up or down. The count
range for Span is 1025 to 4095 counts. The displayed count must equal
20 mA on your multimeter or the appropriate TOC value on a DCS.
Channel 1 and 2 Cal Test
To enter the Channel test screen, press the UP button while in the Channel
select screen.
The purpose of Cal test is to verify that the there is linearity over the 4 -20 mA
range. The 50% value shown above should equal 12 mA on your multimeter.
A value of 0% equals 4 mA and a value of 100% equals 20 mA.
8.6.6 Setting the Elevation
This menu allows the IR to be calibrated at a different elevation, and thus
different atmospheric pressure, to the final operating elevation of the analyzer.
It will normally be set to 1m at elevations at or close to sea level. If the
analyzer is being operated at substantial elevations using a factory calibrated
IR it will be necessary to set this menu to this local elevation. If the analyzer is
gas calibrated on site in accordance with the instructions in this manual,
entering the local elevation is not necessary, and it should be set to 1 m.
8.6.7 UV Block Selection
In order to get the correct default bubble threshold constants for each
analyzer range, a new menu, Service/UV Block, has been added. This menu
allows selection of the block by part number. All of the original acrylic blocks
can be treated as the part number 011664. The new block part number is
7121900. The default selection in this release of firmware is the old
block, 011664.
To be effective, the UV Block menu must be selected after the analyzer is
selected. The default values can be overridden by the Sparger Flow and UV
Flow menus as detailed in section 8.6.3.1 on page 140.
